Abiola Oke is a media executive, strategic advisor, and investor operating at the intersection of entertainment, venture capital, and cultural commerce. With a cross-sector career spanning content, capital, and brand strategy, he advises founders, studios, funds, and family offices on how to build, scale, and monetize high-impact ventures across the global media and entertainment ecosystem.
As Managing Director of ADISA, a strategic advisory firm, Abiola leads initiatives that fuse IP development, capital structuring, and long-term brand value creation. He counsels entertainment companies, talent, and investors on storytelling-driven growth strategies—supporting everything from go-to-market execution and M&A to business development and brand positioning.
A trusted advisor to early-stage startups and institutional investors, Abiola works across media, consumer, and technology verticals to identify scalable opportunities and structure deals that link culture with enterprise value. He is especially focused on helping capital partners navigate the evolving media landscape and source differentiated investments in content, platforms, and cultural IP.
His media experience includes working with major studios such as Disney, Netflix, and Paramount on acclaimed projects including The Lion King, Black Panther, Just Mercy, and Sorry to Bother You. He also served as Executive Producer of They Will Have to Kill Us First, a BBC-backed music documentary, and currently has projects in development with Bloomberg, global studios, and top-tier talent.
Previously, Abiola was CEO and Co-Founder of OkayMedia, the international media company behind OkayAfrica and Okayplayer. Under his leadership, the company expanded operations across four countries and led innovative brand partnerships with Apple, Nike, Uber, Samsung, Diageo, and the NBA—demonstrating his fluency in building platforms where culture meets commerce.
Abiola was appointed by the U.S. Department of State to the Secretary of State’s Advisory Committee on Public-Private Partnerships, serving on its Subcommittee for Media and Entertainment. He is also a member of PTTOW!, the invite-only member network and summit bringing together leaders from the world’s most innovative companies—along with cultural icons—for top-tier collaboration among CEOs, CMOs, and creators.
A recognized thought leader, Abiola’s work and commentary have been featured in CNN, BBC, BET, Variety, Al Jazeera, and Black Enterprise. He has interviewed luminaries such as Ryan Coogler, Chiwetel Ejiofor, David Oyelowo, Adepero Oduye, and Congressman John Lewis. He’s spoken at Stanford, Oxford, Columbia, Chicago Booth, AfroTech, and more, and advised global platforms like the UN Global Africa Business Initiative and MIDEM’s Artist Accelerator.
Abiola was named one of the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD), received Amplify Africa’s Amplifier of the Year award, and was honored with a New York State Senate Proclamation for his philanthropic leadership with FACE Africa, where he currently serves as Board Chair.
